Lawrie & Symington, Forfar held their sale of 20 Prime Cattle, 8 OTM’s and 463 Prime Lambs, Hoggs, Ewes and Rams and Breeding Sheep.
PRIME CATTLE
Bullocks (2) Sold to a top of 2.88p per kg and £1722.24 for a 598 kg Limousin from Gask to average 2.59p.
Heifers (18) Sold to a top of 2.84p per kg for a 596 kg Limousin from Pityot and to £1792 for a 640 kg BB from Greenhead to average 2.75p.

PRIME LAMBS (31) – Topping the Prime Lamb trade was a cracking 47 kg Texel consigned by J. Fleming, North Mains of Baldovan realising £149.
Top Price per kilo for lambs was 344.2p for a smart pen of 43kg Texels from R. Simpson & Son, Mains of Creuchies to average 298p

Topping the hoggs was a fantastic 54 kg Beltex consigned by D. Smith, Scobshaugh, realising £148. A pen of 7 super Texel hoggs scaling 52 kg reached 310.6p per kg from L. Laird, Knockhill to average 246p

Top price of the sale today was £146 for a shapey Texel ewe from W. Duthie, Woodside of Chapelton to average £101.95. A Continental ram from R.C. Brand, Auchcairnie Cottage sold to £143 to average £130.
