Lawrie & Symington, Forfar held their sale of 13 Prime Cattle, 1 OTM’s and 721 Prime Lambs, Ewes and Rams.

Bullocks (3) Sold to a top of 2.70p per kg and £1663.20 for a 616 kg Limousin from Pityot and purchased by James Ewart Ltd, Butchers, Monifieth to average 2.66p.
Heifers (10) Sold to a top of 2.90p per kg for a 538 kg Limousin from Chapel of Barras and purchased by Scott Bros., Dundee and to £1787.40 for a 662 kg Limousin from Pityot and purchased by Yorkes Butchers, Dundee to average 2.76p.

PRIME LAMBS (621)– Forfar saw forward the largest show for sometime of 621 Prime Lambs. A tremendous show for quality albeit a fair bit of weight around. Trade slightly easier on start of week in line with other centres, although better on the week, with weight coming to pounds per head. Sale topped at £158 for Texels from Alexander Strachan, Clochie and to 351p per kg from the same home. Overall Average 304p per kg - SQQ 308p (plus 64p on last year).
