Lawrie & Symington, Forfar held their Annual Christmas Show and Sale of Primestock. Today’s Show was kindly sponsored by Davidsons, W.Walker LLP, Agri-Lloyd, Power Washer Services, Thornton Breakers, Scott Brothers & Stevenson Bros. The judge for the Cattle today was in the capable hands of Louise Forsyth of W.T. S. Forsyth & Sons, Peebles, who we thank for her time and expertise, and her awards were as follows;-

The judges CHAMPION ANIMAL was consigned by – J.A. Peters & Son, West Bog scaling 590kg and selling to 4.50p - £2655 and purchased by Scott Brothers, Dundee.
The RESERVE CHAMPION ANIMAL – also consigned by J.A. Peters & Son, West Bog scaling 554 kg and selling to 3.85p - £2132.90 was purchased by our judge Louise Forsyth.
Best Animal Opposite Sex to the Champion came from Messrs D. Lumgair & Sons Ltd., Gask scaling 676 kg and selling to 3.70p - £2501.20 was purchased by T. & A. Rennie, Butchers, Forfar.

The Show of Prime Sheep was judged by Anna Forsyth of W.T.S. Forsyth & Sons, Peebles, who we also thank for her time. Louise had eight outstanding classes of lambs in front of her today
and her awards were as follows:-

CHAMPION PEN OF 3 LAMBS came from our very own fieldsman Mr. M. Simpson, Berrydyke with three 45 kg Beltex’s selling to £210 and purchased by Anna Forsyth.
RESERVE CHAMPION PEN OF 3 LAMBS came from Firm of W. Mather & Sons, Shandford with three 52 kg Suffolk Crosses realising £170 to Scott Brothers, Dundee.

Charles Nicoll & Son, Newton of Fothringham, Inverarity kindly donated a Prime Lamb to the Doddie Foundation scaling 56 kgs and realising £300 to T. & A. Rennie Ltd., Butchers, Forfar, and the Christmas Hamper raised £115 for the same charity. We thank everybody for their generosity and support.
