Lawrie & Symington, Forfar held their sale of 27 Prime Cattle, 2 OTM’s and 180 Prime Lambs, Hoggs, Ewes and Rams.
PRIME CATTLE
Bullocks (10) – Sold to a top of 2.60p per kg for a 594 kg Limousin from the Gask and purchased by Scott Bros., Dundee and to £1584.96 for a 624 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by the Firm of W.E. Fairlie Ltd., Letham to average 244p.
Heifers (17) – Sold to a top of 2.75p (twice), one for a 518 kg from Nethermyres and purchased by Penman Butchers, Crail and second for a 530 kg Limousin from Chapel of Barras and also purchased by Penman Butchers and to £1561.28 for a 656 kg Charolais from Pityot and purchased by Yorkes of Dundee to average 250p.

SPRING LAMBS (150) – Sold to a top of 347p per kg for a pen of 46 kg Texel Crosses from Upper Tulloes and to £162 per head for a pair of 49 kg Beltex from Scobshaugh. Overall Average 318p per kg. SQQ Ave. 325p per kg.
Less numbers forward though trade still staying very strong. Less quality forward today. Lighter lambs continue to sell well with many pens of 41 – 44 kg lambs regularly selling well into £130 - £145 per head.
