All classes of lambs met a fast selling trade and many more could have been sold to advantage. Lighter lambs 35-37kg selling at £85-£90 look a good trade. Why keep until 50kg?? A massive showoff hoggs for the end of May saw trade remain good for well fleshed hoggs with leaner sheep cheaper. Heavy hoggs in less numbers with only the best flesh dear. The sale topped at £94.50 per head for Texels from I Laird, Yeldabrek, and to 227p/kg for Beltex from A Taylor, Heatheryhall. Overall average 182p/kg (SQQ 185p/kg).
