The sale topped at £110 per head for Beltex from N C Smith, Logan Farm, Lesmahagow, and to 261p/Kg for Beltex from J & J Cochrane, Richardton Farm, Darvel. Overall Average 181p/Kg (SQQ 188p/Kg).
Lambs
A larger show of Prime Hoggets saw trade for export & best quality good, as well as lightweight Hoggs (30-40kg), which were keenly sought after. In line with the national trend, heavy hogs proved harder to cash, especially over 52kg.
