SOLANTEL KELSO RAM SALES – RING 15 – BLUEFACED LEICESTERS
Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 202 Bluefaced Leicester Shearlings and Ram Lambs in ring 15 with trade much better on the year with the:
191 Shearlings Average - £1370
11 Ram Lambs Average - £1127
The sale topped at £8200 for a shearling from Finlay Robertson, Beeches selling to Messrs Cullen, Dollarbank and Craig Malone, Pitcairn Farm and Messrs Minto, Townhead.
Two others out this pen sold to £4800 and £4500 giving an impressive average of £2566 for 9 sold.
2nd top of the day came from Messrs Thornborrow, Easter Dawyck who’s first shearling realised £8000 selling to Messrs McArthur, Nunnerie and Messrs Ridley, Shitlington Hall.
The Dawyck pen averaged £1966 for 12.
Next saw the Midlock number 1 realised £6200 and sold to Hartside Farms, Lamington. Then Midlocks 10th shearling reached £5000 selling to Messrs Campbell, Overburns and Messrs Bertram, Nisbet.
Midlock sold 13 Shearlings to average £1800.
Messrs Hunter, The Steel then realised £4500 for his first shearling selling to Messrs Sayer, Scotland Farm, Hawnby.
At £4000 Messrs Warnock, Coultermuir sold their No.1 shearling in a two way split to Messrs Shennan, North Thrieve and Messrs McQuiston, Barnshangan.
At £3800 Messrs Sharp, Newbigging, Wales sold their 5th shearling to Messrs Robson, Yatesfield and Quickeningcote Partners.
Also realizing £3800 was Messrs Campbell, Easter Happrew who sold to Messrs McCulloch, NI.
Then at £3400 the first from the Newbigging Walls pen was purchased Messrs Wreay, Carnlough, NI.
And at £3000 the 2nd sheep of the day in ring 15 from Messrs Walton, Penpeugh sold to Messrs Brown, Macqueston and Messrs Marston, Millston Moor.
