LANARK – BF Wedders & Cheviot Store Lambs

Lawrie and Symington sold 8304 Store Lambs at their Catalogue Sale.

In conjunction with Livestock Marketing (borders) Ltd the firm sold 5564 Blackface Wedders lambs to average £63.18 (-6.96 on the year, but still ahead of 2020 levels).  3^rd & 4^th draw lambs showed the effects of the dry summer.  Top draws cashed, smaller lambs harder to cash.

At the show prior to the sale (sponsored by the Blackface Sheep Breeders) the judge Andrew Provan Jnr made the following awards:

The 605 Cheviot were ably judged by Andrew Provan Jnr who awarded the Championship and the Wellhead Trophy to regular consigner Messrs Menzies, Chanlockfoot, which went on to realise £93 to Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall.
