Lawrie and Symington had forward 178 cattle comprising of 35 bullocks and heifers, 102 cast cows and 41 calves and stirks. Heifers sold to 312p per kg twice from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm to J & H Cairns, Law and A Mitchell, Glenrothes.or to £1887.48 from Brockwoodlees to J Chapman Butchers.
Bullocks sold to 298p per kg from Brockwoodlees to W Stark or to £2008 from Heatheryhall to J Chapman Butchers. Beef Cows sold to £2090 per head from Huntlyhill or to 249.3p per kg from Buteland. Dairy cows sold to £1610 per head from Glenrig or to 179.3p per kg from Newlands.

Calves
41 Calves and stirks met a quieter ringside of buyers but trade would be sharper on the week for strong calves. Younger / softer types still hard to cash. Stirks topped at £455 for a Charolais Heifer from Kirkwood. Beef Bull Calves peaked at £405 for a ten week old British Blue from Longlea, with heifers selling to £400 for another Blue from the same home. Lambs
The 4289 lambs were a good show for quality although more 45-48kg lambs forward, Best type Lambs met extreme rates, lighter lambs easy to sell. The Sale topped at £155 per head for Texels from Kennedy Mitchelhill and to 311p per kg for a pen of Beltex from Hope Nether Skellyhill. Overall average 241p per kg, SQQ 241p per kg.
