Cattle report
Lawrie and Symington had forward 69 bullocks & heifers, 7 young bulls and 66 cast cows & bulls at their Christmas Show and Sale, the show was judged by Messrs S Collins Butcher, Muirhead and Sponsored by The Scottish Farmer.
Overall Champion was an outstanding Limousin Heifer weighing 626kg from Barrie Farmers, Howburn Farm, Biggar which realized 460p per kilo purchased by Messrs J Cairns Butcher, Law.
Reserve Champion was a cracking Limousin Bullock from Messrs T H Gray, Balquharrage Farm, Lennoxtown weighing 556kg selling to 300p per kilo to Messrs Faulds Butchers, Kilmarnock.

Lambs
A larger consignment of lambs saw an excellent show for quality with all classes keenly bid for especially best export kinds. Many more could be sold to vendors advantage with an ever increasing customer demand.
The sale topped at £126 per head for Texels from Struthers, Collielaw and to 286p/kg for Texels from same home.
