L&S held its weekly sale of 1957 Cast/Feeding Ewes and Store Lambs on Friday. The 893 Feeding Ewes met a fast selling trade for best quality ewes, with export & plainer types also sharper. Fat Ewes, especially Mules, proved harder to sell. The sale topped at £122 for Texels from I Laird, Yeldabrek.

CHE - £40 Horseupcleugh, £35.50 Hillside.

BF - £46, £40 & £38.50 Horseupcleugh, £45 Crookboat, £42.50 Muirhead Hill, £42 Hillend, £40 Goodockhill & Westfield, £38.50 Fallside, £37 North Sanquhar Moors & Holylee.

The 1064 Store Lambs were an excellent show for quality and met an animated trade throughout, with numbers well short of buyer requirements. The sale topped at £88 for a pen of outstanding Beltex lambs from D Murray, Calton Farm, with Blackface lambs to £51 from Coltman, Haystoun.
