The Annual Sale of In-Lamb Suffolk Females and Ewe Lambs took place at Crewelands Farm on Saturday 6th November. 137 head changed hands at extreme rates with 34 animals going to Europe and the USA.

 

Some 312 bidders were registered online via MartEye with around 200 people present at the sale also.

 

This is the largest offering of Suffolk females at any sale and is fast gaining reputation as the No. 1 Sale to buy females.

 

The star attraction creating a new sale top and a new N.Ireland record was 10,000gns for the first from Messrs Sufferin, Crewelands flock. She is by Birness Hustler and was sold carrying a pair to Shannagh Loanstar. The final bid for her came online from the USA with McCauley Suffolks adding her genetics to their top flock.

 

Next at 6,000gns was the first gimmer from Stephanie & William Tait, Burnview flock. A Strathbogie I’m Invincible daughter, she sold carrying a pair to Mullinvale Magnum and found a new home with Darragh McMenamin, Mullinvale flock.

 

The Taits were again in the money when Lot 83, a Clyda President daughter also carrying a pair to Mullinvale Magnum realised 5,500gns and made its way to Aberdeenshire to join the Whitestone Suffolk flock of Penny & Gordon Troup, Corrennie.

 

At 4,800gns, Lot 30 again from the Burnview flock and sired by Strathbogie I’m Invincible carrying a pair to Lakeview Delboy found a new home with Messrs McNally Jnr, Benedyglen flock.

 

A further four lots realised 4,000gns. Lot 72 from Crewelands by Birness Hustler carrying two to Shannagh Loanstar and purchased by Philip Anthony Byrne, Limepark Suffolks, ROI. Lot 82 from Burnview, another I’m Invincible daughter carrying two to Mullinvale Magnum and going home with Messrs Screene, Menlaugh. Lot 28 also from Messrs Tait, a Birness Babe Magnet daughter carrying a pair to Mullinvale Magnum and selling to Darragh McMenamin. Finally, Lot 67 from Messrs Watson, Bannview flock with a Middlemuir Commander daughter carrying two to Blackbrae Barbarian and purchased by Stephanie & William Tait for their Burnview flock.
