Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their annual show and sale of 3203 Scotch Mule Gimmers and Ewe Lambs along with all other classes of ewes, gimmers and ewe lambs.
Trade was two tier with the best quality, character lots easily sold with their regular buyers keen, the 2nd class stock proved harder to cash in all classes.
The sale topped at £240 for Texel X Gimmers from Messrs MacArthur, Nunnerie Farm, Elvanfoot and for Pure Texel Gimmers from Messrs Kennedy, Mitchellhill Farm, Broughton. Mule Gimmers topped at £220 from Messrs Paterson, East Dykes Farm, Strathaven.
The pre-sale show was ably judged by Mr Robbie Armstrong, Dunsyre Mains who made the following awards:
