RECORDS SMASHED AT NATIONAL TEXEL SALE
The Scottish National Texel Sale seen all records smashed at Lanark when a new British Record of 350.000gns was paid for a Texel Ram Lamb Sportsmans Double Diamond from the Sportsmans Flock of Messrs Boden & Davies, Stockport, this beat the previous record of 220,000gns paid in 2009 also at Lanark. After frenzied bidding the final bid came from a three way split of Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn, Procters Farms, Slaidburn and Geoff Teward, New View. At 65,000gns Donald McPhersons Hexel Flock received their highest price of 65,000gns for Hexel Diango with the flocks of Haddo, Cowal and Midlock purchasing him. Sportsmans flock was back in the money at 50,000gns for Sportsmans Dirty Harry who will be joining the flocks of Hexel, Castlecairn, Knockeem and Haymount

The 282 Ram Lambs sold averaged a record £5,019.38
At the gimmer sale the evening before a great clearance was achieved with the top price of 5,800gns going to the Knap flock of Robert Cockburn with Vaughan, Partridge Nest, Newcastle being the successful buyer. Sportsmans purchased two gimmers the first at 5,000gns from the Blackstown Flock and then at 4,200gns purchased the leader in the Procters pen. Plasucha lead gimmer made 3,800 to join the Damside Flock of Susan Campbell and Cammeron Jackson.
The 52 gimmers sold to average £1,346.83
