Lawrie and Symington Ltd conducted the Annual Show & Sale of Texel Sheep on behalf of The Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club.

At the show prior to the sale the judge Mr Andrew Provan, Parkhall awarded the Championship to a ram lamb from Andrew Hambleton, Merkland, sired by Usk Vale Crackerjack he later sold for 7200gns to Alex & Russell Gray, Langside and Peter & Lynne Gray, Scrogtonhead.

At 2000gns Alan Clark sold his top lamb from his Garngour Flock to PJ Anderton, Seed Lea Farm, Bamber Bridge,  Gordon & David Gray, Ettrick sold their top lamb at 1800gns to a Mark Teew, Holland.

The best from the Teiglum Flock of Andrew Clark sold to 1600gns to Alistair Struthers, Boyleston.

The firm also conducted the Part Dispersal of the Rusha Flock on behalf of George, Mary and Nicola Gibb.

The sale included the total gimmer flock.

A large attendance of buyers ensured a strong trade throughout with the 46 sold averaged £721.76.

Top price was 1800gns purchased jointly by James Gibb, Toftcombs and Ian Minto, Townhead.  This followed at 1550gns purchased by Kenny Johnstone for the Boghouse Flock.
