On Monday 24th July 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 75 cattle comprising of 35 bullocks and heifers and 40 cast cows.

Lim heifers sold to 342p/pk from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to Mitchell Butchers, Glenrothes or to £2047 from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to H Black Butchers, Lanark.

Lim bullocks sold to 320p/pk from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to Hastie Butchers, Markinch or to £1984 for the same animal.

Beef cows sold to £1830 per head from Barrie Farmers, Howburn Farm, Lanark or to 212p/pk from Messrs Johnstone, Blairmulloch Farm, Sorn.

Dairy cows sold to £1310 per head from Messrs Montgomery, Drumglass Farm, Kilsyth or to 184p/pk from Messrs Russell, Cobblehaugh Farm, Lanark.

Lambs

A larger show of 1983 prime lambs met a similar trade to end of week. Heavy lambs still coming to best money. Leaner and lighter probably best to stone at present.

The sale topped at £162 per head for Texels from Messrs Smellie, Kailzie Mains and to 305p/kg for Beltex from Messrs Smith, Cloverhill

Cast Sheep

The largest show for sometime of 2593 cast ewes and rams (953 BF) saw trade a fair bit easier on the week in line with other centers. BF and Mule ewes were back the most as many more forward over all. Bestselling ewes still dear.

The sale topped at £280 per head for Texel from Blackpark Farms and to £91 for Blackface from Messrs Smith, Wester Crosswoodhill Farm.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
