Fresh, traditional farm-style food served in a warm, welcoming setting, where everyone is welcome.
Open six days a week, we serve Breakfast, Lunch, Light Bites and home-style baking, with sit-in or takeaway options available. Our menus focus on hearty, familiar dishes, made with care and local produce wherever possible.
Leading our team is Andrea Harvie, formerly of Tea Time Lanark, Gavel proudly supports the local food and farming community.
Gavel can also provide offsite catering for events of all sizes. We also work closely with our onsite events team to deliver seamless gatherings, from casual get-togethers to large-scale events.

To keep things moving on busy market days, Gavel runs a self-service restaurant, allowing customers to browse our hot and cold counters at their own pace. Our menu offers something for all appetites, from fresh country salad plates to traditional, filling dishes including prime Scotch steak pie.
On non-sale days, Gavel offers service with our full menu at your table. All dishes are made to order, providing a fast and efficient service ideal for a quick lunch meeting. At the same time, we pride ourselves on a relaxed, welcoming environment where you’ll never feel rushed.

Graze@Gavel supports our larger on-site activities by providing a pop-up food-to-go facility on our busiest days. Offering the same great quality you expect from Gavel, with a quicker turnaround, it’s perfect for grab-and-go dining. Graze@Gavel also provides additional seating within our concourse area, helping us comfortably accommodate increased footfall.
