On Monday 31st July 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 84 cattle comprising of 36 bullocks and heifers, 45 cast cows and 40 calves and stirks.

Lim heifers sold to 338p/pk from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to Mitchell Butchers, Glenrothes or to £2092 from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to Black Butchers, Lanark.

Lim bullocks sold to 310p/pk from Messrs Gray, Balquharrage Farm, Lennoxtown to W Stark, Twechar or to £1820 from Messrs Gray, Balquharrage Farm, Lennoxtown.

Beef cows sold to £2030 per head from Messrs Clark, Blackhill Farm, Lesmahagow or to 216p/pk from Messrs Clark, Blackhill Farm, Lesmahagow.

Sheep prime stock report

On Monday 31st July 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 2144 Lambs and 1375 Cast Ewes and Hoggs through Lanark.

Lambs

The 2144 prime lambs were an excellent show for quality today and averaged exactly the same as last week. Lighter weight lambs also sought after today.

The sale topped at £160 per head for Texels from Messrs Struthers, Collielaw Farm, Carluke and to 333p/kg for Texels from the same home.

Overall Average 259pp/kg (SQQ 260p/kg)

The 1375 cast ewes and rams were a similar trade on the week with less hill ewes forward. Best quality ewes were easily sold and short of requirements.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
