On Monday 18th December 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their final sale of calves and stirks of 2023 with 68 calves and stirks forward. The sale was topped by 2 8 month old Simmental Bullocks from Messrs M Hunter & Sons, Dawyck Mill Farm, Peebles.

On milk calves topped at £420 for a 1 month old Limousin Cross Steer from Messrs R Wilson & sons, Littlegill Farm, Lanark.

Dairy Bull calves topped at £260 for a Holstein Bull Calf from A Firm of J SSimpson, Mid St Colmac Farm, Bute.

A strong show of weaned claves topped at £540 for a 5 month old British Blue Cross Bull Calf from Messrs T & E Dun, Jeanfield Farm, Carnwath.

On Mondy the 18th December 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 4150 Lambs and 2006 Cast Ewes and Rams through Lanark.

Lambs

The 4150 lambs on offer were a good show for quality with trade some 10-15ppkg dearer than end of week. All classes keenly sought after with heavy lambs coming to excellent pound per head.

The sale topped at £167 per head for Texels from Messrs A Campbell, Strawfrank Farm, Carstairs and to 322p/kg for Beltex from Mr A Baillie, Broomfield Lodge, Ashgill.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.
