Texel Report:

Lighting up the trade at 5,800gns was the father and son duo, Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn, Muirkirk with their 100,000gns sired Auldhouseburn Expression sired daughter and out of a Deveronvale dam by Mullan Armani. She changes hands due Twins to the 130,000gns Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi and now heads to sunnier climates in Exeter with AM Howie, Sunrise Farm for his Milhouse flock.

Following trade at 2,500gns was the Inaugural Show Champion from Alan Clark, North Garngour based at Lesmahagow. A daughter of Ettrick Earthquake with a Procters Chumba Wumba sired dam, she sells due a single next month by the 20,000gns Sportsmans Grand Slam, whilst selling to the judge, Jack Austin.

Closely followed by the third prize gimmer at 2,000gns from Jack Arnott, of Haymount Texels, Kelso, she sells due to their new stock tup, Strathbogie Gladiator – a joint private purchase for £120,000. A daughter of Rhaeadr Entrepreneur, her dam is by Usk Vale Crackerjack, and she now heads north to join the Deveronvale flock in Banff with Graham Morrison.

1,600gns was also received by the Garngour flock from a phone bid from MC Collins who runs the Logram Texel flock based in York. For his money he receives a Cambwell Duke II daughter, and again with a Procters Chumba Wumba sired dam. She carrys twins due mid-February, also to Sportsmans Grand Slam.

Two Ewe Hoggs realised 1,500gns. The first to hit the notes was from another noted father and son duo, Donald and Ross MacPherson with their 3rd Prize. Sired by Ballynahone Franco, she is out a homebred dam sired by Procters Chumba Wumba. She will head to Northern Ireland once restrictions are lifted to join the Loadends flock with Messrs Price at Nutts Corner.

The second realising 1,500gns was from the Tiki flock from Messrs B, R & D Lowe. A long journey up to Scotland from Rue Wood, Shrewsbury was made worth while when the team’s Ewe Hogg won 2nd place and then went on to sell to S W Cobbald, Acton Hall in Suffolk. For his exchange, he receives an Auldhouseburn Freaky Friday daughter and out a Hexel dam, again by the Procters Chumba Wumba.

Three offerings at 1,400gns were received by Garngour. The former was their first entry, another Ettrick Earthquake daughter / Procters Chumba Wumba sired dam, she sells due Triplets by Sportsmans Grand Slam to Andrew Golledge, The Plantation at Hardwicke.

Garngour second entry, also at 1,400gns was a Midlock Escobar daughter, again with Procters Chumba Wumba on her dam’s side. With a single inside, she heads to Lancaster with Graham Surtrees, The Barn at Stodday.

Third at this price for the 4th Prize Ewe Hogg, also from the Tiki flock. ET Sister to their 1,500gns entry, she stays local to Lanark and will now reside in Muirkirk joining the Auldhouseburn flock at Muirkirk with Hugh and Alan Blackwood.

Auldhouseburn also received 1,200gns twice. The first, a Seaforde Empire King daughter with a Sportsmans Double Diamond dam, she is carrying a single by Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi with Dave Smith, Lower Tocklington, Bristol.

His last lot in the consignment also received a final bid of 1,200gns. Another Seaforde Empire King daughter, she is a Sportsmans A Star daughter. Another AI’d to Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi, she will head to Donegal once restrictions are lifted to M Gallagher, Corcreggan.

The final four-figure price received was a final big at 1,100gns for the 2nd prize gimmer from Robert Cockburn, Knap Texels based at Crieff. A New View Electrifying daughter by an Auldhouseburn Billy the Kid sired dam, she sells due a Single to Haddo Falcon to Gerriant Williams, Dragon flock, Llanwnnen

Blue Texel Report:

Blue Texels topped at 450gns for an in-lamb gimmer from Andrew Struthers and Moray Young, Boylston at New Cumnock who run the Glenhill prefix. Due twins by Cairnrock Gyspy King, she is by Matt’s Ee By Gum and out of a Craigalbert daughter by Saltire Blue Avitar. She now travels across to the Scottish Borders to Miss Charlottee Nicolson, Knock Farm, Duns.

This was very closely followed by another in-lamb gimmer at 420gns, also from the Glenhill prefix and sired by Matt’s Ee By Gum and out of another Craigalbert daughter this time sired by Jonsland Xtra to Alan Frame, High Dyke, Strathaven. She changes hand due a single, also to Cairnrock Gypsy King.

This was closely followed by a Ewe Hogg, Jems Hakuna, from Jennifer Duncan of the Jems flock, hailing from Inchford, Cornhill. A daughter of Matt’s Gangsta, she is a daughter of the 6,000gns Nantyderri Forever. She realised 400gns and headed back up the road to Stirling to join the Burnbank flock with John and James Graham.
