On Monday 15th January 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 130 cattle comprising of 45 bullocks and heifers & 85 cast cows.

Limousin heifers sold to 336ppk from Messrs DM Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to W Stark, Twechar or to £2009 from Messrs DM Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to H Black Butchers, Lanark.

Limousin bullocks sold to 308ppk from Barrie Farming, Howburn Farm, Biggar to Chapman Butchers, Wishaw or to £1972 from Messrs JF & MB Teague, Temple House, Balerno to Bowland Foods, Preston.

Beef cows sold to £2100 per head from Messrs A Campbell, Strawfrank Farm, Carstairs or to 234ppk from Barrie Farming, Howburn Farm, Biggar.

On Monday 15th January 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 2830 Hoggs and 1534 Cast Ewes and Rams through Lanark.

Hoggs

A similar show of 2830 prime haggs were forward with almost 1000 being Blackies. Trade remained good in all classes with heavies again coming to good money.

The sale topped at £173 per head for Texels from Messrs TA & R Laird, Cambwell Farm, Biggar and to 372p/kg for Texels from Messrs R & M Struthers, Collielaw Farm, Carluke.

The 1534 cast ewes and rams were a larger show with trade similar on week. Best ewes and strongest ewes coming to good pounds per head. Blackface ewes remain easy to sell.

The sale topped at £280 per head for Texels from Messrs HA Blackwood, Auldhouseburn Farm, Muirkirk and to £90 for Blackface from Messrs Haddow, Lawriesmuir Farm, Lesmahagow.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
