Class 3: Empty Ewe Hogg (1 forward)

1st Lot 35 Aberuchill

 

Champion: Lot 31 – a gimmer from Messrs J & J Murray, Crossflatt

 

Reserve Champion: Lot 25 – Two-Crop ewe from Mr D Morrison, Dalwyne

 

A full ringside of buyers as well as active online bidding via Marteye and phone bidding saw a brisk selling trade from start to finish.

 

Top Price of 5,800gns was received for the day’s Overall Champion from Messrs J & J Murray, Crossflatt, Muirkirk. Shown by John and youngest daughter Iona, this gimmer is by the McCoy LAL and out of a Spectre sired dam. Served by Titan she is due a single. Catching the eye on this one and purchased over the phone, she sold to Messrs R & I Shaw, Acharonich, Lochgilphead.

This was followed by another gimmer, consigned by Mr EJ MacMillan, Lurg, Fintry. Selling for 5,000gns, she heads home with Messrs Connell. For their exchange, they will receive a daughter of Highlander and by the £3,200 Midlock due a single to the £23,000 Dalchirla.

Thomas Muirhead’s Orchilmore flock from Crieff was next at 3,400gns for his One-Crop Ewe. By the £6,000 Auldhouseburn, her dam is by the £160,000 Elmscleugh. Due a single, by the £32,000 Auldhouseburn, she sold to J & J McAlister.

Closely followed at 3,200gns was a gimmer consigned by Messrs J Wight & Sons, Grains. By the £30,000 Midlock, a son of the £200,000 Dalchirla, her dam is by Hawkeye, a son of the £35,000 Dalchirla. She sells having been AI’d to the £30,000 Crossflatt. Heading to Oban, she sold to R Mackay, Millpark Lane.

Messrs J Wight & Sons, Midlock sold to 2,800gns for their third entry from. A gimmer sired by the £30,000 Midlock, she is out of a son of the £24,000 Connachan. She is due twins to Emperor, a son of the £30,000 Crossflatt. She sold to Messrs M Hamilton, Woolfords, West Calder for their South Cobbinshaw flock

David Morrison, Dalwyne then received 2,600gns for his Two-Crop Ewe when selling to regular sale supporter – D Roberts, Heol Las, Penderyn in Wales. Due twins by the £15,000 Auldhouseburn, she is sired by £38,000 Crossflatt and out of a £22,000 Dalchirla bred dam.

Lurg then also received 2,400gns for his Highlander sired Gimmer from Messrs A Woodburn & Son, Netherwood, Muirkirk. Her dam by the £22,000 Dalchirla, she sells due a single to the £23,000 Dalchirla.

Another feature at the sale was three females from Northern Ireland. Due to the ongoing restrictions of exporting, consignments from Messrs C & C Harkin, The Rock (Loughash) and Mr C McHendry, Torr Road were sold via Video Link.

 

Leading the video trade at 2,000gns was a Two-Crop Ewe from Messrs Harkin, The Rock (Loughash). Sired by £4,800 Stroanbrack, she sold to Donal Breslin, Cronkeerin, Co Donegal due twins by the £15,000 Elmscleugh.

Also selling online was another Two-Crop Ewe from Christie McHendry for 1,400gns. By the £15,000 Balliemeanoch and out of a £36,000 Midlock sired dam, she sold due twins to The Rock – Rockstar to I Lynn, Glenshask Road, Armoy.

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
