On Monday the 25th March 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 120 cattle comprising of 55 bullock and heifers and 65 cast cows.

Limousin heifers sold to 348p/pk from Messrs R Warnock, Hill Farm, Strathaven to Hugh Black Butchers, Lanark or to £2199 from Messrs R Warnock, Hill Farm, Strathaven to Hugh Black Butchers, Lanark.

Limousin bullocks sold to 328p/pk from Mr TH Gray, Balquharrage Farm, Lennoxtown to Hugh Black Butchers, Lanark or to £2018 from Messrs J Taylor & son, South Arnloss Farm, Falkirk to M/I Green, Strathaven.

Beef cows sold to £2016 per head from Messrs A Minto, Townhead Farm, West Linton or to 251pp/pk from Messrs R Warnock, Hill Farm, Strathaven.

Sheep prime stock report

On Monday 25th March 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3694 Hoggs, 1107 Cast Ewes and 563 store Hoggs through Lanark.

The 3694 prime hoggs, including 924 Blackface were a mixed show for quality, resulting in a two-tier trade throughout. The best quality fleshed hoggs maintained recent high rates but smaller leaner hoggs defiantly easier. Heavy hoggs were still coming to good prices per head.

The sale topped at £278 per head for Texel from Messrs Campbell, Overburns Farm, Biggar and to 509p/kg for Beltex from Messrs A Baillie, Broomfield Lodge, Larkhall.

Motherless Lambs

Lawrie and Symington held their weekly motherless lamb sale on 25th March with 33 lambs forward.

Topping the sale was a Beltex x ewe lamb from Messrs A Baillie, Carstairs Mains, Lanark.

Tup lambs topped at £10 for a Texel x from Messrs JW Frame, Little Galla, Biggar.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
