On Monday 27th May, Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their fortnightly calf and stirk sale with 56 outstanding calves forward. A ringside full of buyers ensured a good trade throughout.
Topping the sale at £630 was a 6 month old Hereford heifer stirk from Messrs Laird, The Murrays Farm. A flying trade for on milk calves saw a 2 and a half month old British Blue X bull calf from Messrs Adamson, Swaites Farm, reaching £590. Off milk calves were topped by a 3 month old Aberdeen Angus bull calf from Messrs Bryson, Dykehead Farm, reaching £550.

On Monday 27th May Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 70 Lambs, 919 Cast Ewes and 2656 Hoggs through Lanark.
New Season Lambs
Another 70 spring lambs were forward with trade easier on the week, in line with rest of the country. Best lambs still easily sold.
The sale topped at £190 (four times) per head for texel from North Garngour Farm & Auchenhard Farm and for Suffolks from Kailzie Mains Farm & Dreva Farm. 425p/kg for Texel from Wallhouse Farm.
