Lawrie and Symington LTD held their annual show and sale of Scotch Mule Gimmer and ewe lambs, along with all other classes of lowland breeding sheep.
The show of Scotch Mule gimmers on offer would be unparalleled anywhere else with the quality on show! A credit to all vendors. This was reflected in the fierce bidding war that erupted with trade surprising all expectations, topping at £315 twice for Mule gimmers. Firstly, for the pre-sale champions from Messrs Stewart Crookboat Farm and also from Mrs McClymont, Tinnis Farm. All other classes of gimmers were a buoyant trade topping at £280 for Texels from Messrs Barr, Hallhill Farm.
Breeding ewes also in demand selling to £208 for a pen of 1 crop Mules from Messrs King, South Netherburn Farm.
A small but select show of Mule ewe lambs saw the champion pen from Messrs Macarthur, Nunnerie Farm to realise £190.
