On Monday 20th January Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 189 cattle comprising of 45 bullocks and heifers, 110 cast cows and 34 calves.
Limousin heifers sold to 402p/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm to Cairns Butchers or to £2701 from Hill Farm to Black Butchers.
Limousin bullocks sold to 390p/pk from Hill Farm to Chapman Butchers or to £2605 from the same home to Chapman Butchers.
Beef cows sold to £2270 per head from Auchenhard Farm or to 265p/pk from Greentowers Farm.
Dairy cows sold to £2000 per head from Carskerdo or to 219p/pk from Moatmains Farm.
Dairy young bull sold to £2116 per head from Harviston Farm or to 315p/pk from the same home.

34 calves and stirks were sold at our fortnightly sale. Trade remains a record high, with more calves needed.
Topping the sale was an INRA Heifer calf from Machrihanish Farm, reaching £730. On milk calves topped at £570 for a Limousin x bull calf from Heatheryhall Farm. Stirks reached a high of £700 for a Highland heifer from Mr Bell, Dunbar (Clyde Valley Family Park)

On Monday Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3878 Hoggs and 1418 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
Hoggs
A larger show of 3878 prime hoggs were forward with trade slightly easier on week, in line with other Monday markets. 50kg hoggs still short of numbers but best hoggs remain dear.
The sale topped at £196 per head for Texels from Walesley Farm and to 376p/kg for Beltex from Ingraston Farm.
