Sheep Primestock Report

On Monday 5th May Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 2659 Hoggs, 85 Store Sheep and 810 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Hoggs

A larger show of 2659 prime hoggs were forward and a very mixed show for quality. Heavy hoggs continue to be hard to cash with well fleshed export hoggs easiest to sell. However, the amount of hoggs coming forward at the start of May still lacking flesh and just forward stores is unbelievable.

The sale topped at £174 per head for Beltex from Oldwalls Farm and to 372p/pk for Beltex from Oldwalls Farm.
