A tremendous show of 78 calves & stirks were forward for the Christmas show & sale. Judging was in the capable hands of Mr M Forbes who picked out a British Blue bull calf from Messrs Baillie, Hillhead as his champion, which later sold for £420 to the judge. Reserve champion was awarded to a Limousin bull from Messrs Hope, Nether Skellyhill which also realised £420, again to the judge. Stirks peaked at £460 for an Aberdeen Angus from Muirhouse.

Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 4125 Lambs and 2366 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
Lambs
Numbers increased again in the prime lamb section with 4125 forward. Trade remained strong especially for lambs under 44kg and best quality gained a premium.
The sale topped at £121 per head for Beltex from Baillie, Broomfield and to 285p/kg for Beltex from Anderson, Oldwalls.
