Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their annual sale of 4327 Blackface Ewes, Gimmers, Stock Sheep and second sale of Blackface Ewe Lambs as well as 315 dispersal Cheviot Sheep.

Included in the sale was the Final Dispersal of Blackface stock ewes on behalf of Messrs Coulson, High Staward who sold 95 Stock Ewes and 28 Stock Gimmers to average an impressive £796 per head. Topping at £7200 for a Gimmer purchased by Messrs Blackwood, Auldhouseburn and a second Gimmer to £7000 (Owned by shepherd Jimmy Story) selling to Messrs Shaw, Acharonich, Lochgilhead, (A full report and breakdown will follow).

Out with this the Blackface Ewes topped at £440 from Messrs Morrison, Dalwyne to Culmore.

With Gimmers to £550 from Messrs Murray, Crossflatt selling to Messrs Shaw, Acharonich, Lochgilphead.

Ewe Lambs topped at £98 from Queensberry Farms, Mitchellslacks selling to Brisbane Glen, Outerwards.

A catalogued entry of 496 Lowland Breeding Ewes, Gimmers and Ewe Lambs along with 93 Rams of all classes. Breeding sheep sold to extreme rates  and short of buyer requirements with Texel Gimmers from Messrs Brown, Muirhouse Farm, Libberton selling to £220.

Mule Gimmers from Messrs Thornborrow, Easter Dawyck Farm, Stobo selling to £185 and Cheviot Mule Gimmers from Messrs Beattie, Capel Farm, Closeburn selling to £180. 4 Crop Texel X Ewes from Messrs Hamilton, Kirkton of Crawford Farm, Abington realised to £152 with Mule Ewes from the same home selling to £148.

Good Rams with power and length met animated demand selling to a top of £950 and £900 from Messrs Orr, Wester Walston, Carnwath with smaller tups proving hard to place.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
