Lawrie & Symington Ltd held their last calf sale of July with 53 quality calves on offer. Topping the trade was an exceptional 2.5 month old British Blue bull calf from Messrs J Bryson & Son, Dykehead reaching £560.

On milk calves topped at £450 for a June born Charolais X bull calf from Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall Farm.

On Monday the 22^nd July 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 1495 Lambs and 921 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

New Season Lambs

A few more lambs forward on the week but still short of requirements and behind where numbers were this time last year. Again well fleshed lambs with a bit of weight were best to sell.

The sale topped at £188 per head for Texels from Campbells, Overburns and to 351p/kg for Beltex from Steele, Cumberhead.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.
