On Monday the 30th September Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 145 cattle comprising of 18 bullocks and heifers, 70 cast cows and 57 calves and stirks.
13 heifers sold to 360p/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm to Hugh Black Butchers or to £2227 from the same home to Collins Butchers.
5 Bullocks sold to 292p/pk from Walkerdyke Farm to Chapmans Butchers or to £1991 from the same home to Chapmans Butchers.
Beef cows sold to £1950 per head from Sandilands Farm or to 220.4 p/pk from Hill Farm.

Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their fortnightly calf and stirk sale with 57 quality calves and stirks on offer.
Reaching top spot this week at £620 was a pair of four month old Aberdeen Angus bullocks from Woodcockdale Farm. On milk calves peaked at £540 for an outstanding two and a half month old British Blue heifer calf from Kingsbeck LTD, Culter Allers. Off milk calves reached a high of £610 for a four month old Aberdeen Angus heifer calf from Heatheryhall Farm.

On Monday 30th September Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3838 Lambs and 3324 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
Lambs
Another large show of 3838 prime lambs saw more weight forward today with a lot of lambs between 46kg and 50kg. They are still coming to good pounds per head. Best export types dearer. Plainer lighter sorts easier.
The sale topped at £184 per head for Suffolk from Southmains Farm and to 338p/kg for Beltex from Jeanfield Farm.

The largest show of the season so far of 3324 cast ewes and rams saw trade remain good for the number forward. Hill ewes maintained recent high rates even though they anticipated buying them cheaper.
The sale topped at £258 per head for Texel from Strawfrank Farm and to £94 for Blackface Woolfords Farm.
