On Monday the 17th March Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 160 cattle comprising of 55 bullocks and heifers, 60 cast cows and 45 calves and stirks.
Limousin heifers sold to 465p/pk twice from Brockwoodlees Farm to Black Butchers or to £3023 from Brockwoodlees Farm to Chapman Butchers.
Limousin bullocks sold to 442p/pk from Howburn Farm to Chapman Butchers or to £3167 from Hill Farm (Strathaven) to Telinco Farms.
Beef cows sold to £2590 per head from Auchnotroch Farm or to 312p/pk from Mid Shawtonhill Farm.
Dairy cows sold to £2000 per head from Westertoun Farm or to 270p/pk from Newlands Farm.
Cast bulls sold to £2240 per head from Kilblaan Farm or to 215p/pk from Kilblaan Farm.

45 calves were sold at our fortnightly sale with no shortage of quality! Record prices keeping up at Lanark.
Topping the sale twice was the Pirie Family at Machrihanish Farm with two Inra calves both reaching £870.

On Monday 17th March Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 4159 Hoggs, 308 Store Hoggs and 1014 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
Hoggs
A larger show of hoggs saw a two-tier trade for weight ranges with 36-44kg export weights easily sold but heavy weight hoggs hard to cash with large numbers everywhere.
The sale topped at £182 per head for Texels from Hillridge Farm and to 419p/kg from Hawthornbank Farm.
