Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 120 cattle comprising of 40 bullocks and heifers and 80 cast cows.

Limousin heifers sold to £2829 from Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to H Black Butchers, Lanark or to 440p/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to S Collins Butchers, Muirhead.

Limousin bullocks sold to £2762 from Faskine Farm, Airdrie to N Bark, Biggar or to 398 p/pk from Faskine Farm, Airdrie to N Bark, Biggar.

Beef cows sold to £2940 per head from Hillend Farm, Biggar or to 343p/pk also from Hillend Farm, Biggar.

Dairy cows sold to £2170 per head from Tanhill Farm, Stonehouse or to 282p/pk also from Tanhill Farm, Stonehouse.

On Monday 15th September 2025 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3775 Lambs and 3020 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Lambs

A much larger show of 3775 prime lambs were forward with an excellent show for quality and a lot more weight. All classes keenly bid for, as the trade looked to be firming. Best kinds very dear.

The sale topped at £196 per head for Texels from Campbell, Overburns Farm and to 404p/kg for Beltex from Mitchell, Fowler Farm.

The largest show for some time of 3020 cast ewes and rams saw seller taking advantage of Scotland’s largest ring of prime and cast sheep buyers. More smaller ewes forward and leaner end cheaper. Heavy ewes still dear.

The sale topped at £318 per head for Texels from Clark, Banfield Farm and to £145 for Blackface from Hamilton, Woolfords Farm.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
