SHOW & SALE OF BELTEX SHEEP

(On behalf of Beltex Scotland)

 

Lawrie & Symington Ltd conducted the Show & Sale of Beltex Sheep on behalf of Beltex Scotland where a catalogue entry of 277 heads. The event also seen the Full Dispersal of the Padkin Flock (on behalf of Messrs Alistair & Wendy Padkin) take place as well as the Final Dispersal of the Cochrane’s Flock (on behalf of Messrs J & JM Cochrane).

 

Leading the sale was the Sub Entry Ram Lamb from Miller Farms, Inverurie. Their entry, Lurg Lover Boy stood 1st Prize at the Scottish National Show last month and also taking 1st Prize and Reserve Overall Champion at the Pre-Sale Show the night before. Sired by the 10,000gns Mellor Vale King Kong and out of Lurg Honour, who had previously stood 1st Prize as an Ewe Lamb at the Highland Show back in 2022. Lover Boy was purchased jointly for 6,000gns and now joins Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall flock, Biggar and Messrs Wainwright, Todhall flock, Cupar.

 

Topping the Shearling Ram trade on the exchange side was Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall at 5,200gns. The lead entry, Heatheryhall Kryptonite is a son of the 42,000gns Todhall Hercules and out of Gordy’s Glamour Girl, a daughter of the 30,000gns Buckles Dark Dawn. An array of prizes to his name during this year’s summer show season including 1st at Carnwath, 4th at the Scottish National last month, and 2nd Prize the night before at the Pre-Sale Show. He now joins the Walkerdyke flock of father and son duo, David Snr & David Jnr Cunningham in Strathaven.

 

The Overall Champion, Whindyke Kebab King consigned from another regular supporter of the Lanark Show & Sale, Alister Meikle, Helentongate, Symington realised 4,500gns. This was his lead Shearling and a son of Stonehills Herbert, who also sired all of the Whindyke consignment, and a son of Whindyke Hairspray, a daughter of Loandhu Elmo. He was sold jointly to the judge, Iain Struthers, Collielaw, Carluke and Jamie Gibson, Greenwall, Forth.

 

Alistair also received 3,600gns for second entry, Whindyke King Kong. Also sired by Stonehills Herbert, his dam is Whindyke Happy Hour. He heads to Messrs Shaw, West Lethans, Saline.

 

Leading the Female Entries, was the Female Champion from Kenny O’Connor, Woodside Avenue, Carstairs Junction who runs the Kenny’s Flock. His gimmer, Kenny’s Kaboom, realised 1,700gns to Messrs Taylor, Heatheryhall flock. She is a daughter of the 42,000gns Todhall Hercules and out of Heatheryhall High, who has been previously purchased at the Heatheryhall Production Sale back in 2023.

 

Leading the Padkin Flock Dispersal on behalf of Alistair & Wendy Padkin two gimmers realising 2,800gns. Their first was Padkin Kerry, a daughter of Aviemore Furore 2 ET and out of Padkin Bizzy Lizzy, she now joins the newly established Tonely flock with Messrs Wattie based in Alford.

 

Also at 2,800gns was Padkin Kerria who won the Reserve Breed Champion at Lesmahagow Show back in May. Another daughter of Aviemore Furore 2 ET, and out of Padkin Honeysuckle. She was purchased by Jamie Gibson, Greenwall, Forth.

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
