FINAL FLING – SALE OF RAMS, SHEARLING RAMS, RAM LAMBS & PEDIGREE FEMALES
The Final Fling Ram Sale saw trade flying in all areas except the worst end, with men all desperate for tups.
In ring No. 1, 277 Blackface, Bluefaced Leicesters, Border Leicesters, North Country Cheviots and South Country Cheviots were forward with a 90% clearance rate achieved. Blackface Rams sold to a top of £1100 from Messrs Ramsay, Milnmark. Cheviot Rams sold to a top of £650 from Mr S Weir, Mainside. Bluefaced Rams sold to a top of £2000 from Messrs Henderson, Sweetshawhead.
In ring No. 2, the 426 Suffolk, Texel and Beltex were easily sold and had the joint top price of the day when a Suffolk shearling ram from Messrs Renwick, Howford realised £2000 selling jointly to Messrs Mundell, Meigle and Messrs Pate, Nettlingflatt.
The shearlings topped at £1500 from Messrs Boyd, Dechmont. With Texel Ram Lambs to £1200 from Messrs Laird Cambwell.
