Suffolk Supremes – Friday 21st November 2025

21 November 2025

LAWRIE & SYMINGTON LTD

LANARK AGRICULTURAL CENTRE

SUFFOLK SUPREMES – FRIDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 2025

Lanark welcomed back the Suffolk Supremes for their Fourth Sale of In-Lamb Females and Empty Ewe Lambs with 50 heads on offer out of the 57 catalogued over 14 flocks and an excellent clearance rate of 98% with an overall average of £1025.36 for 49 sold. Bidding was brisk coming from both the live ring and a large number of online buyers via MartEye.

Topping trade at 6,200gns was a substitute entry from Mr J G Douglas, Cairness flock, Fraserburgh with his homebred gimmer – 33H:24:03949. Sired by Jalex Power and out of a homebred dam sired by the 75,000gns Cairnton Prince, after a phone-bidding fury, she heads back north to D Moir, Cairness Home Farm, Fraserburgh due twins to the privately purchased, Callow Carbon.

Opening the sale, Lot 1, was the Pre-Sale Show Overall Champion from Mr R Greig, Tillydesk flock, Ellon realised 1,600gns. A new consigner this year, his gimmer, 71Z:24:01672, is sired by the Frongoy Fortitude and out of a homebred dam sired by Drimmie Dubarry. Scanned a single to Howgillfoot High Voltage, she was purchased by the judge, Messrs JT & Miss JB Cannon, Redbrae flock, Wigtown.

Graeme Christie’s journey south from the Balquhain flock, Inverurie to Lanark was also a success achieving a top price of 1,500gns for his second entry, PDN:24:01696. This gimmer is by Pyeston Real Deal and out of a Castleisle Comedian homebred daughter. This gimmer is a maternal sister to the 7,000gns sold last December and now joins Messrs DY WB Stewart, Drumlochy, Blackford due twins to Graeme’s new purchase, the 12,000gns Cherrylea Chiefton who was purchased at Ballymena earlier this year.

Topping the Aged Ewes at 1,100gns, was Messrs D & P Reid, Conchar flock, Mouswald with JDX:23:01635. Winning the Aged Ewe class before taking Reserve Overall Champion, this ewe is by Tolgus Tarquin and out of a Cairness Custom Made homebred daughter, she sells due a single to Claycrop Classic. She joins Messrs R & P McAllister, Langalbuinoch, Isle of Bute.

First Prize Ewe Lamb and topping the Ewe Lamb trade at 1,000gns was Mr J A Gibb, Cairnton flock, Techmuiry. This ewe lamb is by Treforian Rocket who was purchased at Shewsbury last year and out of a Lakeview dam sired by Strathbogie Stradivarius. She joins Messrs RJ & J Towers, Greenlands, Carnforth.
