LANARK – Annual Blackface Ewes & Gimmers – 27.09.22

Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their Annual Sale of 6011 Blackface Ewes and Gimmers along with 2^nd Sale of Ewe Lambs, Blackface Stock Dispersals and all other Lowland Breed Ewes as well as Rams of all classes.

The 4932 Blackface sheep forward saw the sale in two sections today’s, one for SMS and the other for NON-SMS and Ewe Lambs.

A new record set in Lanark was achieved for a Blackface Gimmer from Messrs Blackwood, Auldhouseburn who sold their first for £18,000 to Messrs Coulson, High Staward who has retained a few select ewes to work with at home.

Blackface ewes topped at £1800 from Messrs Blackwood, Dalblair, selling to Messrs Conway, Ireland.

The amount of Irish interest today for the SMS ewes and gimmers ensured a trade not seen before.

This section of the sale was topped at £300 for exceptional Texel gimmers from Messrs Brown, Muirhouse Farm and £230 for Texel ewes from the same home.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
