Lawrie and Symington held their annual sale of 5291 breeding sheep on Tuesday with trade strong throughout.
Ring 1 saw the 4040 Blackface Ewes, Gimmers and Ewe Lambs along with all classes of Cheviot breeding sheep, met an animated trade throughout.
The sale topped at £800 for a pen of 6 excellent Blackface Ewes from Messrs Murray, Crossflatt Farm selling to Aberuchill Estate. This was followed at £400 for a pen of 3 Gimmers from Messrs MacArthur, Nunnerie Farm. Blackface Ewe lambs topped at £130 from Kirkland Farms.
North Country Cheviot Ewes To £135 from Messrs Nicol, Yardbent Farm.

Ring 2 saw 1327 Mule, Texels and ABE Ewes and Gimmers pass through the ring, alongside 48 tups. All classes of sheep met a fantastic trade, well exceeding vendors expectations with Mule Gimmers topping the ring at £245 with a run of Texel x from Messrs Fallows, Seathill Farm. Proving very good to sell, one crop Ewes selling to £182, £180 & £178. Mule Ewe Lambs were fast to sell as expected, topping at £165 from Messrs Warnock, Dreva Farm.
A small but quality entry of tups sold to animated demand, selling to £950 for a strong length pure Texel from Messrs Orr, Wester Walston Farm with £500 – £600 Regularly being achieved.
