On Monday 1st September Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 95 cattle comprising of 30 bullocks and heifers and 65 cast cows.

Limousin heifers sold £2885 from Brockwoodlees Farm to Henderson Fine Foods, or to 460pp/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm to Cairns Butchers.

Charolais bullocks sold to £2775 from Brownsbank Farm to Black Butchers, or to 405p/pk twice, firstly from Walkerdyke Farm to Chapman Butchers and then from Brownsbank Farm to Black Butchers.

Beef cows sold to £2740 per head from East Dawyck Farm or to 348p/pk from Nether Abington Farm.

Dairy cows sold to £2000 per head from Kirklands Farm or to 264p/pk from Harelaw Farm.

Young bulls sold to £2767 per head from East Merkland Farm or to 370p/pk from the same home.

Cast bulls sold to £2500 per head from Cleugh Farm or to 236p/pk from the same home.

On Monday 1st September Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 2704 Lambs and 1267 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Lambs

A good show of 2704 prime lambs were forward with a lot more weight on offer. Plenty lambs 46kg plus and well fleshed proving that kilos come to pounds per head. Less export weight sheep forward.

The sale topped at £190 per head for Beltex from Hammond, Auchenbart Farm and to 386p/kg for Beltex from Baillie & Co, Sebay Farm, Orkney.

The 1267 cast ewes and rams met a very strong trade again, bucking the trend and were well short of buyer requirements. More needed each week to satisfy Scotland’s largest ring or prime of cast sheep buyers.

The sale topped at £285 per head for Texels from Laird, Yeldabrek and to £124 for Blackface from Galloway, Lochlyoch Farm.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
