On Monday the 13th January Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 130 cattle comprising of 35 bullocks and heifers and 95 cast cows.
Limousin heifers sold to 400p/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm to Black Butchers or to £2834 from Hill Farm, Strathaven to Chapman Butchers.
Limousin bullocks sold to 375p/pk from Fauldingcleugh Farm to JM Stark Wholesaler or to £2655 from Hill Farm, Strathaven to Chapman Butchers.
Beef cows sold to £2000 per head from Carlophill Farm or to 278p/pk from Bushelhead Farm.
Dairy cows sold to £1800 per head from Moatmains Farm or to 240p/pk for the same beast.
Cast bulls sold to £2400 per head from Nether Abington Farm or to 242p/pk for the same beast.

A grand show of 3534 prime hoggs were a larger show on week and a good show for quality with not as much weight around. More could still have been sold at high rates.
The sale topped at £200 per head for Texels from Drumbuie Farm and to 414p/pk for Beltex and West Lethans Farm.
