On Monday the 16th October 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 103 cattle comprising of 38 bullocks and heifers and 65 cast cows.

Lim heifers sold to 350p/kg from Messrs Dickinson, Brockwoodlees Farm, Canonbie to J Cairns Butchers, Law or to £2176 from Messrs Warnock, Hill Farm, Strathaven to N Bark, Skirling.

Her bullocks sold to 292p/kg from Messrs Drife, Netherhill Farm, Crawfordjohn to W Stark, Twechar or to £2078 from Messrs Howatson, Strutherhead Farm, Strathaven to H Black Butchers, Lanark.

Beef cows sold to £2070 per head form Messrs Warnock, Dreva Farm, Biggar or to 248p/kg from Messrs Stark, Bluebell Farm, Mains of Campsie.

On Monday 16th October 2023 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 4508 Lambs and 3038 Cast Ewes and Rams through Lanark.

Messrs WW & IL McQuat & Sons, Brockhouse Farm, Galashiels kindly donated a Lamb for the Lamb for St Andrews Day Campaign. Over 56,000 pupils have celebrated St Andrew’s Day by cooking and eating Scotch Lamb.

Lambs

Another large show of 4508 prime lambs saw trade a fair bit sharper on the week with all classes in demand. The heavy lambs and best quality a lot dearer. The sale average was some 39p/kg above same week last year (227p).

The sale topped at £169 per head for Texels from Messrs Laird, Yeldabrek Farm, Orkney and to 315p/kg for Beltex from Messrs Shaw, West Lethans Farm, Dunfermline.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
