Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 214 cattle comprising of 75 bullocks and heifers, 80 cast cows and 59 calves.

Calves and Stirks

An unbelievable trade for calves today at Lanark with 59 on offer. Topping the sale three times was Bryson, Dykehead Farm, reaching £1020 for two British Blue cross heifers and an Aberdeen Angus cross bull calf!

On milk calves topped at £700 for an Aberdeen Angus cross bull calf from Blackwood, Ladehead Farm.

The next sale is The Christmas Show & Sale, Monday 1st December.

Sheep Primestock Report

On Monday 17th November Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 4450 Lambs and 1810 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Lambs

The largest show of lambs for this season saw trade fast in all categories with far more export and light weight lambs forward. Heavies stayed good per head. Reminder not to draw the lighter lambs to lean. These are best sold as store.

The sale topped at £197 per head for Texels from Campbell, Overburns Farm and to 428p/kg for Beltex from Fleming, Nether Brotherston Farm, with all proceeds given to Cash For Kids in the Scottish Borders.

Overall Average 318p/kg (SQQ 323p/kg)

Messrs Cruickshank, Little Kype Farm, Strathaven also donated the value of one Ewe to the value of £150 to the St Andrews Day ‘Lamb’ appeal for school kids.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
