On Monday Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their fortnightly calf sale with a strong show of 69 calves forward for the first sale in October. Topping the sale was a pen of 3 Aberdeen Angus x heifers from Ralston, Killivan reaching £1200.

On milk calves topped at £680 for a British Blue x bull calf from Adamson, Swaites.

On Monday 6^th October Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3524 Hoggs and 3202 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Lambs

Another large show of lambs saw trade similar on the week again with plenty of weight on offer. Export types easily sold but again a lot if leaner lambs shown.

The sale topped at £186 per head for Texels from Laird, Yeldabrek Farm and to 376p/pk fpr Beltex from Purdon, Brownsbank Farm.
