On Monday 8th July Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 108 cattle comprising of 33 bullock and heifers, 75 cast cows and 75 calves and stirks.
Limousin heifers sold to 338p/pk from Smith, North Boig Farm to Faulds Butchers.
Or to £2104 from Cunningham, Walkerdyke Farm to Black Butchers Lanark.
Limousin bullocks sold to 320p/pk from Grey, Balquharrage Farm to Stark Wholesale Paisley.
Or to £2101 from Cunningham, Walkerdyke Farm to Chapman Butchers Wishaw.
Beef cows sold to £2290 per head from Smith, North Boig Farm or to 260 p/pk from Shanks, Wes Glespin Farm.

Calves and Stirks
Lawrie and Symington Ltd held their first calf sale of July with 75 cracking calves and 4 stirks. A huge amount of quality on offer.
Topping the sale was a pair of 10 month old blue bullocks from Ralston, Kilkivan Farm, reaching £850.
Off milk calves were topped at £750 by an exceptional 5 month old Limousin X bull calf from Steel, Cumberhead Farm.
On milk calves reached £440 for a 2 and a half month old Limousin X bull calf from Taylor, Heatheryhall Farm.
The next calf sale is Monday 22nd July.

On Monday the 8th July 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 1028 Lambs, 692 Hoggs and 1588 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
New Season Lambs
A larger sale of 1028 prime lambs saw trade sharper on the week with more buyers present and with heavy weights realising good money. More required each week but must be good fleshed.
The sale topped at £182 per head for Texels from Middleton, Longford Farm and to 381p/kg for a Beltex from Dow, Dovecot Farm.
