Lawrie and Symington sold 628 store cattle were sold at the fortnightly sale. Bullocks sold to a top of £1890 for a 652kg Charolais Cross from Messrs J Wight & Sons, Midlock Farm, Biggar or to 364.1p for a pen of six 287kg Simmentals from Messrs WA & J Murray, East Crookedstone Farm, Hamilton to level at 313p/kg.
Heifers topped at £1980 for a 700kg Charolais again for Messrs J Wight & Sons, Midlock Farm, Biggar, or to 347p for a pen of three 484kg Limousins to average 293.45p.
Dairy bullocks sold to a top of £1450 for a 616kg Friesian from Messrs W G Linton, Muldron Farm, Bathgate or to 243.2p for a 584kg Holstein from Messrs R & A Grant, West Blackmoss Farm, Strathaven, to average 237p.
