Leading the trade at 40,000gns was brother and sister duo, Iain and Judith Barbour, Beechgrove, Annan who run the Solwaybank flock. A son of the Limestone Online, and out of a homebred dam sired by Crewelands Carolus, he heads to the Sportsmans flock with Charlie and Tom Boden, Stockport.

Next at 30,000gns was Lilia Hutchinson, Howgillfoot’s first entry. By Pyeston Real Deal, she is out of a homebred dam by the 25,000gns Frongoy Rocket. Final bidders on this were Mark and Darragh McMeniman of the Mullinvale flock, Donegal.

Solwaybank then achieved their second five-figure price of 25,000gns for their 4th Prize Open Ram Lamb who is another Limestone Online son, a full ET Brother to the 40,000gns. He heads to Shrewbury with Phillip and Russell Poole for their Salopian flock.

Finn Christie, Newton of Balquain, Inverurie who runs the Maidenstone flock had a good couple of days with winning Female Champion as well as 1st Prize in the Novice, Reserve Male Champion, Scottish Breed Champion and then Reserve Overall Champion, with his first ram lamb which realised 15,000gns selling to Messrs Innes, Strathbogie, Huntly. They take home a son of the Castleisle Blackadder, out of a homebred dam by 5,500gns Howgillfoot Sniper.

Two lambs then reached the 10,000gns mark. The first came from Messrs Sharp, Frith, Tenbury Wells who owns the Sharps flock. Sold early in the day, he is sired by Sportsmans Striker, and out of the homebred Hawshill dam by Strathbogie A Kind of Magic, with the final bid coming from Gordon Mackie for his Drimmie flock up in Forfar.

In the last consignment of the day from Messrs Innes, Strathbogie, whose first lamb was the other at 10,000gns. A son of the 30,000gns Rempstone Gambler and his dam a homebred ewe by Crewelands Kingpin. This lad heads to Suffolk with final bid coming from Steven Cobbald, Acton Hall for his Lavenham flock.
