Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3596 Hoggs and 1394 Cast Ewes through Lanark.

Hoggs

A larger show of 3,596 hoggs were forward, with a terrific show of quality which bucked the end of last week’s trend. All classes were much dearer than anticipated. Export and lightweight hoggs were still best sold, but heavy hoggs were also sharper than expected.

The sale topped at £182 for Texels from Struthers, Collielaw Farm and to 381p/kg for Beltex from Steel, Cumberhead Farm.

A larger show of 1394 cast ewes and rams again sold at recent high rates to Scotland’s largest ring of prime sheep buyers. A larger end of plainer, heavier ewes forward. Tups still easily cashed.

The sale topped at £300 per head for Beltex from Baillie, Carstairs Mains Farm and to £132 for Blackface ewes from Maclarty, Crawfordjohn Mill Farm.

There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
