The final calf & stirk sale of 2021 saw 60 entries forward. Stirks peaked at £505 for a Continental bullock from Ormsary. Beef bull calves peaked at £330 for a British Blue from Loanfoot, with heifer calves reaching a top of £345 for a British Blue from the same home. Dairy stirks sold to a top of £195 for a Fleckvieh from Woodhead, or to £115 for a British Friesian calf from Cronan. Lambs
A smaller show of 3468 prime lambs were forward with an excellent show for quality easily sold especially export & light weight lambs. Trade rose all day and more could have been sold.
Lambs will be required next Monday 27th December.
The sale topped at £158 per head for Texels from Messrs Gibson, Cowgrove and to 358p/kg for Texel from Messrs Struthers, Collielaw.
