A smaller show of 64 calves & stirks were forward to the fortnightly sale, with trade similar on the fortnight. Stirks reached a top of £400 for an Aberdeen Angus heifer from Headsmuir. Beef bull calves topped at £355 for a British Blue from Branchalburn, with beef heifer calves peaking at £370 from Gartclush. Dairy bulls topped at £125 for a Friesian from Cronan.

A larger show of 3386 prime lambs saw an excellent show for quality and trade easily upheld recent high rates and many more can now be sold to fill increased buyer demand.
The sale topped at £140 per head for Texels from Messrs Chapman, Hangingshaw and to 305p/kg for Beltex from Messrs Cunningham, Walkerdyke.
