Sheep prime stock report

On Monday the 4th March 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 1661 Cast Ewes and 3615 Hoggs through Lanark. Also in las ewes and 242 store hoggs.

The phenomenal hog trade continued on Monday with the 3615 on offer again, dearer on the week and meeting our best average to date. The sale average will be up £1.20p/pkg on the year. Many more required to fill Scotlands largest ring of prim sheep buyers

The sale topped at £228 per head for texels from Messrs A Kennedy, Mitchellhill Farm, Biggar and to 426p/kg for Beltex from Mr A Mason, Denbrae Farm, St Andrews and Messrs R Hamilton & Son, High Crewburn Farm, Strathaven.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
